La Ross and the Community

Supporting the community is important to us all here at La Ross and over the last few years we feel we have really managed to achieve this! Whether it is becoming an advocate for antibiotic stewardship to support government initiatives or supporting our patients with their wellness we have it covered! We know in order to serve the community we need to be reactive to our patients and listen to them: another reason why we have our patient representative board so our patient voice is always heard!

We have recently added an exciting new staff member to the clinic, the lovely Leanne is soon to be joining us. Leanne is a clinical lead, therapist, hypnotherapist, and sleep consultant who will be here to support and offer advice to anyone who may be struggling with regulating their sleep and are feeling exhausted! We know in our busy lives stress can be life threatening and good quality sleep can be a factor of that recovery so we needed to make sure we could provide a solution to those patients needing some support!

We also work closely with local counsellors, such as Jodie who owns Kent Counselling Services: Jodie offers support and various integrated types of therapy to those in need. Mental health is so important to us in the clinic, and we always want to ensure we are providing adequate resources to those who may be in need. All La Ross staff have also been trained in mental health workshops and body dysmorphia workshops to always safeguard vulnerable parents.

You will also find helpline numbers and leaflets available in the clinic for free of charge support and guidance from local and national charities. These services can be confidential and accessed via phone, text, or email.

We have previously held drop-in sessions, in aid of Macmillan, and also coffee morning sessions, where we encourage people to come into the clinic for free advice, a link to helpful resources, and a non judgemental space to talk and support each other!

We are a supporter of oasis domestic abuse services, a local charity aimed to provide support and help for adults and children facing abuse and harm and will be running regular events to raise money to support their incredible services!

We are also proud that our ladies support the community in their spare time outside of the clinic too, as Leeann is soon to be completing the 3 peaks challenge in aid of a wonderful neonatal charity called 'Abigail's Footsteps'. This charity is a baby loss charity that offers support and counselling to bereaved families. Their fundraising pays for specialist midwifery courses and specialist equipment to aid families in need.

Leeann has been hard at work training and fundraising for many months now and we are all so excited for her adventurefor such an amazing and deserving local charity!

Last but certainly not least, we always try to show our support to other local businesses and we ensure all La Ross staff enjoy a meal together at the amazing Don Vincenzo’s in Rochester once a month to celebrate our month's achievements plan ways to support our patients better- Feedback is always welcomed in the Clinic and we would love to hear how you believe we can continue to add services and resources to continue supporting our local community.

If you feel we can support you in any way, get in touch with us today!
